It is the 27th of the month which means the Am I not Human monthly campaign is upon us.
This is the brain child of Eddie, Wayne, PurpleZoe and myself, dedicated to spreading awareness on the plight of our underrepresented global family.
PurpleZoe puts together a monthly E-Book that is available for free download at Roots of Humanity. If you are interested in submitting short articles, we would greatly appreciate the contribution.
This month’s issue features short articles on child soldiers, an update on Darfur and Tibet, Burma and other topics created in a concise style.
This is a communal effort, last month these conscious bloggers helped to spread the word:
I spent a lot of time cleaning the homestead in preparation for an event and found it hard to get to sleep. I turned to the tube and watched Conan O’Brian [from Boston, baby] and Anne Currie was the guest.
I was really struck at how a representative of NBC said: ” We need to pay attention to the little guy.” Our word choice communicates our perspectives. Humanity is not separated into groups of bigger or smaller importance.
We could, however, be easily grouped into fortunate and unfortunate classifications. But I guess the truth is more revealing than entertaining.
Last week, Congressman Dennis Kucinich made good on his promise that he made back in January to file Articles of Impeachment against the dishonorable President George W. Bush. The House later voted to have the resolution sent to the Judiciary Committee for review. Unfortunately, the Articles of Impeachment Resolution for Vice President Dick Cheney has been stifled in the same committee, which was also filed by Congressman Kucinich.
This is not about politics. I repeat. This is not about politics. This is about measurable accountability of our highest civil servants. You may think that Impeaching this Administration would be a waste of time. I beg to differ strongly on that one. What if we have John McCain as our next President? Would you like him to inherit the legacy of this administration? Or would you like to remind the next administration to take their charge seriously and that they are above all accountable to the full extent of the law. We have the government we deserve, it is time to take a second look at what we expect from our public servants and hold them to the basic tenets of American Democracy.
Honesty must be a requirement. Allegiance to the collective good must be a requirement.

Lastly, I leave you with a Democracy Now! Interview with Congressman Dennis Kucinich and also author and Renowned Attorney Vincent Bugliosi Seeks “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder”.
I have created a slideshow that can be placed in your sidebar if you are planning on participating on April 13th for the In Solidarity: Global Day for Darfur.
The Mission is to build upon Amnesty International’s global efforts within the blogsphere.
The Strategy is to Educate, Motivate and Activate toward ending the genocide in Darfur.
Educate through analysis of reports and news materials, compilations of facts through viral multimedia like podcasts and videos posted on Youtube and linking to articles, blog posts, and viral media to expand public knowledge of the Darfuri genocide. Any and all aspects can be focused on; such as the root causes of the murder, who is behind it, and what the international community has done to promote the murder and to end it.
Motivate through the capacity within humanity for empathy. Motivate through love. Pull at heart strings, communicate the sameness of Darfuri families and your own, and share the simple, common fact that we are all the same and the suffering of the Darfuri people is felt within our hearts. Motivate through the anger for the greed, the murder, and the lack of action.
Activate through petitions, open letters, letters to all our elected officials as well as U.N., Sudanese and Chinese officials, and speaking out to the corporate sponsors of the Beijing Olympics as China plays a key role.
I will be adding some facts, links and viral media in the coming days which anyone can grab and use. I will also have some fact sheets and other materials to spread. Since we are building a movement, I will prominently display all participants’ contributions and continue with the link love.
If you want to add the code to your sidebar let me know in the comments since one measurement needs to be changed in the html code depending upon the size of your sidebar.
Keep your Change, I want evolution of thought, baby.
There are so many true progressive movements out there that aren’t strangled by party affiliations.
These are the compatriots on the ground, in the community and in the faces of our public servants sacrificing for the benefit of us all, which means they aren’t covered by the mainstream media.
One such progressive movement is the Hip Hop Caucus, born on September 11th, 2004 at Howard University, now led by the Reverend Lennox Yearwood. I can appreciate that there is a close connection of transforming our society as well as our government. That’s what I call Evolution.
The Platform of the Hip Hop Caucus
1. We want freedom and the social, political and economic development and empowerment of our families and communities.
2. We want equal justice for all without discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, creed or class.
3. We want a clean environment and an end to placement of environmental hazards such as waste dumps and toxic facilities in or near our communities.
4. We want the total elimination of poverty.
5. We want universal access and delivery of the highest quality health care for all.
6. We want public policies that are in the interests of poor people to have priority before Congress,
state legislatures, municipal governments, the media and the entertainment industry.
7. We want the resources to link the struggles and poor and indigenous people around the world.
8. We want the highest quality public education for all.
9. We want the total elimination of racism and racial profiling, violence, hatred and bigotry.
10. We want the total elimination of police brutality and unjust incarceration.
11. We want the end and repeal of all repressive legislations, laws, regulations and ordinances such as “three strikes” laws; federal and state mandatory minimum sentencing; trying and sentencing juveniles as adults; sentencing disparities between crack and powdered cocaine use; capital punishment; and Hip Hop censorship fines by the FCC.
12. We want the recertification and restoration of voting rights for the 10 million persons who have lost their right to vote as a result of a felony conviction. Although these persons have served time in prison, their voting rights have not been restored in 40 states in the U.S.
13. We want a progressive movement led by the energy and activism of the Hip Hop Generation at the grassroots level throughout the United States and the World.
14. We want greater unity, mutual dialogue, program development and a prioritizing of national issues for collective action within the Hip Hop community through summits, conferences, workshops, issue task forces and joint projects.
15. We want to tremendously increase public awareness and education on the pandemic of HIV/AIDS.
The Hip Hop Caucus has led conferences, protests, and congressional discourse skillfully organized to achieve “some” coverage. A protest or action that is not carefully planned and executed will not produce results, and they know it.
*I will be presenting my arguments concerning the Nader myth within the next few days. The burden of supplying proof of my assertions lies completely on me and I am taking that responsibility quite seriously.*
The Washington Post reports today that the Slaughterhouses providing meat for school children, the elderly and the poor as well as the general public are breaking laws in place for protection against contamination due to e coli and mad cow disease contamination.
Does this footage make you think twice about consuming American meat?
A casual and concise look at the Man {Dennis Kucinich} and his Mission {restoring our Nation}. Mr. Kucinich has created a national movement while working to retain the 10th district seat in Ohio that he “holds in trust”.
Your goals are changing, but this is a long and drawn-out process, so don’t expect to know where you are heading anytime soon. It’s not that you can’t make any plans; it’s just that the map is undergoing revisions as you are traveling. You might not be able to rely on your previous experience. Instead, trust your ability to respond to the circumstances, even as they morph into something else.
