Dazjae Zoem a.k.a. Purple Zoe, of The UltraViolet Underground and Co-Collaborator on the 2008 Black Weblog Awards nominee Roots of Humanity: giving a voice to our Darfurian and Tibetan families, has created a modern day myth. In the realm of the mystic, moral values are expressed through an enlightened lens in Maji.
This is a book for all ages. I am reading Maji aloud, by chapter to my seven year old son who gives it a rave review. There are so many moral lessons taught that it is also a great starter for conversations on topics like responsibility, and intent.
Teens and adults can easily become found within the realm of Maji. This would be an excellent gift for youths in periods of transition and turmoil.
For those of us, who hold belief systems that encompass metaphysics, there is a plethora of information on topics such as the chakras, homeopathy, astrology, numerology well integrated into the book.
Insightful poetry and inspirational quotes add to the essence of this remarkable book.
In addition, Maji is a maverick. Literature that is multi-cultural and mystical is hard to come by. Stories that uplift our spirits toward the fantastic potential is necessary for all expressions of humanity.
Dazjae Zoem’s imaginary of skin tone is illuminating, and the message of potentiality being color blind resonates a powerful message to our youth.
I highly recommend allowing Ms. Zoem to take you on a journey with Maji, I guarantee you will be the better for the ride.
