Like I was telling Villager, the fact that all three of us chose Gil Scott says quite a lot about the man’s impact that we would automatically go straight to him when it comes to political songs. He is truly one of the greats in this form, and one of my musical heroes.
And you’ve got some OLD school Gil, which is cool.

Unfortunately, my one Gil Scott Heron story is sad. I almost got to see him perform at a small club in Denver, but circumstancses, as they say, prevented him from being able to perform.
