Old School Friday Music Meme

Wayne of the Electronic Village convinced me to start participating in a weekly meme again and Old School Friday fits the bill quite perfectly. I have a large and varied taste of music spanning all genres and love to share my musical experiences.

Mrs. Grapevine and MarvelousOne are the creators of this bloggie meme

Here’s how to play:

THE RULES:

1. ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE

2. OLD SCHOOL IS DEFINED AS MUSIC CREATED BEFORE 1993

3. NO OFFENSIVE WORDS ALLOWED, PLEASE USE EDITED RADIO VERSION

4. POST A VIDEO OF YOUR FAVORITE OLD SCHOOL SONG TO TAKE US BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE

6. HAVE FUN & DON’T FORGET TO COMMENT

This week I present a lovely lady with a voice that resonates within the soul. Her voice comes from the very depths of the soul and sometimes what’s down that deep ain’t pretty.

    Danielle,
Your profile leads to your blogspot blog. Others may not know that you are participating in OSF if you don’t leave a specific link to this entry in future. Just a thought.

re: Nina Simone. I must admit that I have *not* taken time to listen to Nina Simone in my many decades of living on this planet. Today for the first time I hear the three songs that you posted. She seems to be a remarkable talent with a more remarkable tale to tell. I look forward to learning more about her over the coming days and weeks…

    peace, Villager

Regina –> I feel like a dolt for having never taken time to listen to Nina Simone in the past. OSF provides education for us on some talent that we might not otherwise know…

The OSF theme for this week is wedding songs: songs you got married to or songs you would like played at your wedding. Pass it along. I’m in a sentimental mood.

Jazz music is acceptable, be as creative as you like.
